disIllusions
The work of Trey Crim
Presented by Visions Gallery and Art and Discord
June 22, 2008-July 13, 2008
Opening Reception June 22, 2008 1:00pm-5:00pm
Visions Art Gallery, in collaboration with Art and Discord, is excited to announce an exhibition of the works of Trey Crim, the artist behind Digitally Ruined Graphics. The exhibit will be displayed from June 22, 2008 through July 13, 2008.
Trey Crim has a diverse body of work, ranging from serene scenery to abstract seduction. Each piece is a combination of objects and surfaces that would not normally coexist. His work is beautiful and frightening; simple and sublime. He breathes new life into the unnoticed minutiae that our eyes pass over daily.
At the exhibit, you can get a first glimpse at works from his upcoming book, “disIllusions,” a compilation built from photographs Trey has taken over the course of three years. He has combined and manipulated them into new textures and landscapes, offering a different view of the world around us.
Along with the works from “disIllusions,” he will be presenting re-imagined versions of a number of his digital pieces as well as new paintings from his richly textured deconstruction series.
The opening reception will be held at Visions Gallery on June 22nd from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. You can meet with the artist, listen to the musical stylings of Emma Duggan and get your snack on. Prints and framed works will be available for purchase during the exhibition.
